Jane Lopoten School of Dance has earned a reputation throughout the community for offering quality dance instruction.  Under the artistic direction of Jane Lopoten, our studio aims to develop well rounded dancers versed in multiple disciplines.

From the desk of our Director....

 

Thank you for visiting! Let me introduce myself to you. I over see this dedicated staff, as well as teach and choreograph. While I enjoy teaching tap, ballet, jazz, and creative dance, my greatest joy is inspiring our younger students. I've been inspiring dancers since opening the studio in 1978. Through my studio and its fundraising efforts, we have raised over 300K for charities in our region, including CHOP, Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Philadelphia Affiliate, the Red Cross, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, the American Heart Association and others!

I've been dancing since I was 3 years old, starting at my mother, Sharon Rosenthal's dance studio, and taking classes at various schools in the Pennsylvania and New York areas. I have also taught my creative dance program to hundreds of teachers across the United States at various seminars.

I am also the creator and founder of Yahsercise - Young At Heart Seniors Exercise program.  I teach an exciting and fun exercise program at many nursing homes and retirement centers. This program was designed for seniors who can only exercise sitting in wheelchairs or regular chairs. I incorporate many props such as tambourines, marching sticks, balloons, plates, cones, a parachute and more in order to make the class very exciting and fun. Their enthusiasm when I arrive is so heartwarming. The class has made a huge difference in the lives of these seniors.

 

Together with Kristine Izak, I've created our Jump for Joy Dance Program for children with Down Syndrome. This full scholarship program is designed specifically to challenge and inspire these children with classes that include ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical dance.

I take pride in presiding over a studio that has been in the same location for decades and enjoys a reputation as the finest dance studio in the area.
